Landfill Equipment Operator

Chaffee County seeks a dependable and safety-minded Equipment Operator to support daily Landfill operations through heavy equipment operation, site maintenance, scale house support, and customer service.

About the role

The qualified candidate works well within a structured environment, follows standard operating procedures, cooperates effectively with team members, and takes pride in consistent, hands-on work. This position includes outdoor work in varying conditions as part of regular operations.

Schedule

• Wednesday–Saturday schedule
• Four 10.5-hour workdays, including a meal break

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment and hand and power tools (preferred)

Pay

$23.43 to $28.71 per hour (full-time, non-exempt, hourly position)
