Responsibilities
- Perform surveying tasks in an efficient manner as directed by Professional Land Surveyors.
- Survey, map, and document land features, improvements, and land boundaries under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.
- Operate and maintain field and office equipment.
- Organize, prioritize, and perform work assignments within project deadlines.
- Produce and deliver control, boundary, topography, ALTA, Right-of-Way, hydrographic, and construction surveying services under the supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.
- Work in a team environment and learn from fellow technicians, staff surveyors, project surveyors, and project managers.
- Develop topographic survey drawings, plats of survey, monument records, and other drawings under the direction and supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor.
Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Candidates with at least a two-year degree are a plus.
- Ability to lift 50lbs and walk at least 5 miles daily.
- Ability to work outside.
- Willingness to work hard.
- Computer and communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- An aptitude for basic geometry, algebra, and / or trigonometry.
- Candidates should be able to travel for extended durations and on short notice.
- Knowledge of land surveying-related tasks, such as construction layout, survey equipment, etc. are a plus.
- Knowledge of Trimble robotic total station and GPS equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D is a plus.
- Ability to have your workweek exceed 40 hours, especially during construction season.
