About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with prior land surveying and mapping experience who is looking to expand their skills across both field and office operations. The position offers hands-on exposure to all aspects of the surveying profession and is well suited for someone interested in professional growth and pursuing licensure. Work is approximately 70% office / 30% field.
Responsibilities
- Perform general land surveying fieldwork independently or as part of a team when needed.
- Conduct boundary, topographic, and small layout surveys.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including robotic total stations.
- Perform CAD drafting and prepare survey drawings.
- Download and process field data.
- Conduct deed research, map research, and subdivision plotting.
- Interpret deeds, maps, and survey documents.
- Assist with office-based surveying tasks, including filing, documentation, and project support.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout all surveying activities.
Requirements
- Prior experience in land surveying and mapping required.
- 6 months–2 years of surveying experience; candidates with more experience are welcome, but senior-level candidates are not needed.
- Field surveying experience is the priority; CAD/drafting experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with robotic total stations preferred.
- Knowledge of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and layout procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage field assignments.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Ability to walk long distances, remain on feet for extended periods, and navigate outdoor environments, including uneven terrain and obstacles.
- Must be comfortable learning both field and office sides of the job, including drafting/CAD-related tasks after field work.

Schedule
