Land Surveying Crew Chief

About the role

The Land Surveying Survey Crew Chief position is available in our Charlotte, NC office. This role focuses on the fundamentals of land surveying and supporting the Survey Department in field operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of surveyors to ensure efficient and accurate data collection
• Oversee the team’s field survey operations, equipment setup, and quality control measures
• Address client concerns and provide exceptional customer service throughout the project
• Proficient in surveying equipment (especially Trimble equipment), Total Station, and GPS
• Manage Survey data processing workflows
• Ensure Compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards governing land surveying activities
• Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members
• Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols for the entire crew
• Conducting precise measurements and assessments of land/properties

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 4 years of progressive experience in land survey field operations and proficient with land surveying equipment

Desired Skills

• Drone pilot experience
• Knowledge of the outdoors
• Knowledge of plant/tree species
• Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Walking for long periods of time will occur
