Land Survey Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Survey Instrument Operator / Land Survey Technician to support a variety of land surveying projects. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is comfortable with technology and mathematics, and takes pride in accurate, precise fieldwork. Prior surveying experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

What You'll Be Doing

Working alongside a Survey Crew Chief and, at times, independently, you will support a variety of surveying projects, including:

• Monument reconnaissance
• Boundary surveys
• ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
• Topographic surveys
• Aerial photo control
• Construction stakeout
• Survey research

Responsibilities

• Perform essential field tasks supporting daily survey crew operations
• Collect accurate, high-quality field data
• Prepare clear field notes and sketches
• Operate and maintain survey equipment and vehicles
• Follow field safety procedures and maintain professional standards
• Collaborate with office staff to support efficient project completion

Equipment & Technical Experience

• Aptitude and willingness to learn surveying techniques and technology
• Previous experience operating survey equipment is a strong plus
• Ability to learn and properly use field surveying instruments and related technology

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Safety-conscious approach to fieldwork
• Willingness to travel overnight occasionally is a plus
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
