Responsibilities

- Conduct the collection, processing, and verification of survey data.
- Operate and maintain surveying instruments, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors, to ensure accurate measurements.
- Set up, calibrate, and troubleshoot survey equipment prior to and during field operations.
- Collect topographic, boundary, and construction layout data in accordance with project requirements and safety standards.
- Perform field calculations, level loops, and coordinate checks to verify accuracy and completeness.
- Record clear, detailed field notes and maintain accurate documentation of survey observations.
- Import and organize raw field data for processing and drafting by office staff.
- Aid in preparing survey drawings, plats, and exhibits under the direction of surveyors or CAD technicians.
- Support construction staking activities by interpreting plans and marking locations of proposed improvements.
- Maintain communication with Team Leaders, Surveyors, and Engineering staff to clarify project needs and resolve data discrepancies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and job-site requirements.
- Maintain equipment inventory, cleanliness, and readiness for field deployment.
- Assist with data quality control and ensure compliance with firm and client standards.
- Manage time and priorities effectively across multiple projects and changing field conditions.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning new survey technologies and methods.
Requirements
- Have a high school diploma; Associate's or technical degree preferred.
- Possess basic computer and math skills with the ability to learn surveying technology.
- Be detail-oriented with strong critical thinking abilities.
- Be willing to work overtime and flexible schedules as project deadlines require.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Have physical stamina to work outdoors carrying equipment across all terrain.
- Possess strong communication and teamwork skills.
