Control Point Associates is a leading surveying firm with over 30 years of experience specializing in construction stakeouts, boundary surveys, and 3D laser scanning. We serve industries such as construction, engineering, and land development. We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Crew Chief to join our NYC/Melville office.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead survey crews in field operations, including construction stakeouts, topographical surveys, boundary analysis, and as-built surveys.
- Operate advanced survey equipment such as Trimble/Leica/Spectre robotic total stations, GPS RTK units, 3D laser scanners, and data collectors.
- Conduct field calculations, complete sketches, and ensure accurate data processing.
- Maintain safety protocols and proper equipment handling and maintenance.
- Supervise and mentor instrument operators and field crew members to ensure productivity and adherence to project timelines.
- Serve as the main point of contact on-site for clients, maintaining positive relationships and providing project updates.
- Perform additional tasks as required to meet the company’s high standards of quality and accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying in a managerial or leadership role.
- High School Diploma (required) with strong math, computer, and technical skills.
- Expertise in operating advanced surveying equipment and software.
- Proven ability to lead a team and collaborate with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to technology.
- Ability to obtain additional certifications (e.g., OSHA, Hazwoper, TWIC).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Flexibility to work overtime and travel overnight if needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for long periods.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet).
- Ability to work in construction zones and on busy streets with high noise levels.

Pay
$31-$48 per hour, depending on experience.
