This role drives complex projects, stakeholder partnerships, regulatory compliance, and strategic land use decisions that directly impact the reliability and growth of the electric grid. Responsibilities

  • Manages the daily operations of the team responsible for the post-acquisition lifecycle of all land assets, ensuring continuous stewardship and compliance.
  • Directs team activities related to maintaining robust land records, accurately tracking lease/permit expirations, and managing data integrity.
  • Oversees regular reviews and field checks to identify and address third-party encroachments or violations of existing land use agreements, acting as the first point of escalation for complex disputes and coordinating with the Law Department as needed.
  • Serves as the team's subject matter expert (SME), ensuring staff effectively advise internal customers on land management requirements, long-term use constraints, and property analysis utilizing GIS and mapping tools.
  • Manages the identification, creation, and implementation of improvements to land management operational procedures and workflows.
  • Hires, trains, mentors, and manages the performance of team members, ensuring all land rights information is accurately documented, tracked, and archived.
  • A material job duty of all positions is ensuring the protection of all physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising right of way or real property transactions and real estate acquisitions.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Land Use Planning, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Seven or more years of experience in land management, right-of-way, real estate, utility property management, or related fields.
  • Experience leading teams and managing performance in a utility, infrastructure, energy, transportation, or government environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of easements, leases, licenses, permits, rights-of-way, and real property transactions.
  • Experience negotiating complex land agreements with public agencies, private landowners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of utility operations and the land rights required to support transmission, distribution, generation, and grid modernization projects.
  • Experience interpreting legal descriptions, title reports, surveys, and property-related documents.
  • Proficiency using GIS, mapping applications, land records systems, and property management databases.
  • Proven ability to lead process improvements, manage competing priorities, and drive operational excellence.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting recommendations to senior leadership.

Schedule

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
