About the role

The primary responsibility of this role involves examining and processing various cases related to lands, oil and gas, mining, or mineral cases. Duties also include reviewing applications and claims for legal rights, drafting complex decisions, and maintaining accurate data.

Responsibilities

• Collect data on a variety of cases related to lands, oil and gas, mining, or mineral cases.
• Determine the accuracy and proper execution of applications or claims and the qualifications of applicants for legal rights.
• Prepare routine correspondence, including decisions, to process cases.
• Draft more complex adjudication decisions.
• Collect, enter, manipulate, update, and maintain data ensuring quality and integrity.

Requirements

• Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
• Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Direct Deposit participation required.
• Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Cannot hold an active real estate license, nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Lands.
• A financial disclosure report will be required within 30 days of appointment.

Qualifications

• To qualify at the GS-05 level, you must have three years of general experience, one of which is equivalent to GS-04 level.
• To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 level.

Additional Information

• This position will be filled under the Field Unit Local Hiring Authority.
• Eligibility is limited to applicants who reside within the defined local commuting area at the time of application.
• The defined vicinity for this position is: 50 miles from the BLM Alaska State Office, 222 W. Seventh Avenue #13, Anchorage, Alaska 99513.
• The duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
