Land Development Senior Civil Engineer (PE)

About the role

We are growing our Land Development team in Kansas City and are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead projects and mentor our team. OWN, Inc. is an employee-owned engineering firm that builds futures while shaping the built environment across Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas. We serve the Private Development and Public Infrastructure markets with core offerings in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Field Services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the OWN Experience by focusing on Clients, OWNers, Safety, Quality, and Financial Health.
• Collaborate with project teams to plan and design civil engineering projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and industry standards.
• Conduct advanced calculations to validate and optimize project designs for accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead the development of comprehensive construction documents, including detailed drawings and technical reports.
• Utilize quantitative analysis to estimate quantities and construction costs for budgeting and strategic planning.
• Provide expertise in construction phase services, overseeing project progress and addressing on-site challenges.
• Generate detailed reports and conduct studies to assess project feasibility, environmental impacts, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage the preparation and submission of permit applications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in technical platforms such as Google Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Monday.com, and Deltek.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
