About the role
Lead the development of design and technical documents through all phases of projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, plan, and develop project design elements including, but not limited to:
- Rezoning & Entitlement Applications
- Preliminary Plans
- Site & Subdivision Plans
- Design open and closed storm drainage systems including stormwater management
- Design water and sanitary sewer systems
- Ensure compliance with zoning ordinances, proffers, and applicable facility standards
- Develop erosion and sediment control plans and design E&S control measures in accordance with state criteria
- Perform QA/QC of own work and the work of team members
- Utilize working knowledge of VDOT, state, and local standards, policies, and procedures
- Design and create technical documents in Civil 3D or in AutoCAD using Carlson Design Software
- Advance and lead planning studies, preliminary and final design plan production, and project permitting
- Train and mentor new and junior-level staff members
- Remain current with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations to ensure compliance
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of services in planning, design, and management
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Exemplary teamwork, interpersonal, and project management skills
