Land Development Assistant Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid Project Managers with planning, design, and management of residential land development projects.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans and reports including layout, grading, drainage, and utilities.
  • Support coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and public agencies.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
  • Conduct technical research, perform calculations, and support QA/QC procedures.
  • Assist in construction phase services, including site visits and reviewing contractor submittals.
  • Support permit applications and regulatory approvals.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, invoices, and technical deliverables.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and represent the team professionally.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in civil design with a focus on land development
  • Possess valid Texas (TX) Professional Engineer registration, passed PE exam, or have relevant PM experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong understanding of local codes, regulations, and permitting processes
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated team player with a desire to grow into a project management role

Qualifications

While not all qualifications may be required, they are preferred:

  • Experience with GIS software
  • Knowledge of stormwater management and water quality practices
  • Experience with permitting and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with construction administration and inspection

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
