Land Conservation Property Reviewer (Real Estate Specialist)

As a Real Estate Specialist with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will help manage land transactions that support recreation, conservation, and public access. This role provides the opportunity to work with legal documents, surveys, and partner organizations across the state. Each day brings important tasks that support the responsible care of state lands, protecting natural spaces for future generations.

Responsibilities

• Document Preparation: Create agreements, deeds, easements, and related materials for land transactions.
• Legal Review: Examine title work, surveys, and abstracts to identify concerns and recommend corrections.
• Property Research: Investigate sales data, courthouse records, and ownership details for land cases.
• Partner Communication: Work with landowners, agencies, attorneys, and conservancies on acquisition processes.
• Closing Coordination: Organize real estate closings and ensure documents are recorded and filed correctly.
• Issue Investigation: Research land claims, boundaries, rights-of-way, and other property-related disputes.

Schedule

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: Opportunity to work from home part-time, up to 5 days per pay period, with a securely configured high-speed internet connection from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If unable to telework, reporting to the headquarters office in Harrisburg is required. Telework eligibility is subject to change.

Requirements

• Minimum Experience and Training:
  • One year as a Real Estate Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of technical real estate experience and an associate degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Special Requirements: Active Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
• Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
