About the role

Level I Entry/Junior level individual contributor, semi-skilled worker who operates machines, factory-related processing equipment, or vehicles. Requires little or no prior experience and no more than a few months of training that is often received while on the job. Has little or no autonomy and works under close supervision. Achieves competency with skills assigned to this level over time.

Responsibilities

• Lay-up composite materials on mandrels according to the manufacturing plan and Standard Work Instruction (SWI); wrap mold with composite materials in preparation for curing process to form composite parts.
• Check for accuracy in all prior documentation of manufacturing planning; report discrepancies and schedule concerns to the supervisor.
• Verify materials being used are according to manufacturing plan.
• Verify part ID tag and sign off on work performed.
• Adhere to schedules and time allowances, takt time, for production requirements.

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and follow demonstrated steps.
• Acute attention to detail.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of process specifications.
• Basic math skills.

Education

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience

• One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in composite manufacturing a plus.

Computer Skills

Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Usually work indoors; sites may not be temperature-controlled.
• Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
• Exposure to hazardous equipment and contaminants.
• Shared workspaces with other employees.
• Requires handling objects of up to 50 lbs; lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift and overtime).
