Position Overview
The Lamination Technician performs a wide variety of fiberglass lamination tasks in the Resin Transfer Molding department. Tasks include mold preparation for gel coaters, removing fiberglass from molds, and transporting finished parts into the hole cut booth. This position involves lifting heavy objects multiple times a day and may also include gel coating, bracing, and various PI tasks.
Essential Functions
- Maintains and adjusts resin mixers and pumps.
- Reads production schedule and ensures parts are completed and moved on to the next station in a timely manner.
- Follows all safety standards and procedures, including chemical handling standards and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Uses hand, battery, and pneumatic tools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of related boating building experience preferred.
- 3 years fiberglass lamination experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to read and understand a production schedule.
- Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools, powered and manual.
- Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment, using protective clothing and respirator.
- Passes a respirator fit test.
Working Conditions
- May be required to work in a non-air-conditioned area.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and over 50 lbs. with team assistance, following proper safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $23.18, hourly.
