Retail Senior Supervisor
The Retail Senior Supervisor is responsible for managing operations of all park retail and confection locations including training, accountability, visual merchandising, inventory controls, cashier duties and quality controls. Also assists with ancillary revenue activities related to rentals and food and beverage, as needed.
- Supervise the daily operations of the Retail, Cabana, & Confection teams and any other assigned areas
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Lake Compounce’s core values
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all Retail positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned employees, including training, performance coaching, and discipline
- Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with Connecticut law
- Aid with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
Departmental Duties
- Welcome and greet all guests as they enter retail locations
- Conduct opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including food preparation and cleanup
- Manage inventory levels by completing daily stocking of all gift shops, checking orders, and moving inventory between shops
- Proactively communicate inventory needs to leadership before items are sold out
- Collaborate with Retail Manager to merchandise stores and improve product sales
- Ensure employees are adhering to departmental and company policies (theft of merchandise/counterfeit training/etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness of store areas including exteriors
- Monitor cashier activities to ensure continuous accuracy and compliance with POS procedures
- Ensure merchandise is well stocked and organized
- Maximize unit visual merchandising standards
- Oversee ancillary duties related to lockers, speedy pass and water park rentals
- Follow appropriate food and beverage guidelines related to Sweet Shoppe, Coffee, and Creamery operations when required
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to a supervisor or manager in a timely manner

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma desired
- Equivalent work experience will be considered
- 2-3 years of previous retail or point of sale work experience
- 1+ years of previous supervisor experience leading a team of employees
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work flexible hours that extend beyond 9am to 5pm
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to operate various motorized vehicles, including trucks, golf carts, forklifts, etc.
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction
- Ability to comply with all federal, state, and local regulations regarding food handling, for the confection locations
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations, meet the demands of constant deadlines and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Frequent stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Use a step ladder in a safe and proper manner
- Remain sedentary for periods of time, while using a computer or POS equipment
- Carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more
Working Conditions
- Exposure to both indoor and outdoor environments
- Frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities
- Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
