Lactose Operator (3rd shift)

Responsibilities
- Follows established department GMP’s, SOP’s and batch record instructions
- Must be able to troubleshoot equipment shortfalls/failures, and repair tasks that may not require Maintenance Department
- Performs hourly checks that monitor material flow or instruments such as temperature pressure gauges, indicators or meters to ensure optimal processing conditions
- Properly organizes and secures stored material for shipping
- Trained to run Protein Dryer
- Collects samples of powder and liquids for analysis; examines visually or by hand to verify qualities such as clarity, cleanliness, consistency, dryness, and texture
- Maintains correct dryer CIP procedures by set up or adjust machine controls to regulate conditions
- Communicates with evaporator operators and baggers on a timely basis
- Keeps record of whey products being dried and the nature of non-conformities and any subsequent actions taken and ensure involvement to address the corrections
- Keeps work area clean and orderly
- Fulfills standard Sanitation Operating Procedures
- Maintain an effective audit ready program, taking into consideration the status and importance of the processes and areas to be audited as well as the corrective action of previous audits
- Supports SQF by maintaining food safety through completing job tasks and maintaining their area in a sanitary manner
- Properly controls the automated process of filling bags and sling totes with product
- Documents the exact operating results at definite times of the production process
- Attends various mandatory safety and departmental meetings
- Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved
- Absists other personnel as needed and perform other duties essential to the department as requested by your supervisor

- Experience in Dairy Manufacturing Environment preferred

- Ability to work flexible hours
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a dairy manufacturing environment

Pay
Salary Range: $24.38 - $24.88
