RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Operates equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and supervisor instructions.
- Completes required documentation accurately and neatly.
- Ensures proper usage of Required Materials (RM) and RM quantities by adhering to documentation.
- Adjusts equipment and process settings to comply with SOPs and instructions.
- Inspects and maintains equipment for safety and optimal performance.
- Inspects product quality and documents results at specified intervals during production.
- Performs routine analytical testing to control the production process.
- Completes daily shift production logs.
- Collaborates with lab technicians to ensure product quality.
- Maintains awareness of production standards and reports deviations promptly.
- Communicates with other on-site personnel as needed.
- Exhibits excellent computer skills, particularly in operation software.
- Has experience working with lab testers and plant equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses: Forklift truck certification required, obtainable within 30 days of hire.
- Experience: At least one year of process and equipment experience in Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Fermentation, or Bio-tech industries or related fields.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL
- Works in cold to hot temperatures; works around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions.
- Uses heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment, including operating a forklift.
- Able to lift, pull, carry, and pick up average to heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to climb stairs or ladders and handle heights, sit, bend, stoop, and reach for objects, walk on paved and unpaved surfaces, stand for prolonged periods, operate a computer and keyboard, review written documentation, hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone, operate a telephone, lift objects horizontally and vertically, and perform eye-hand coordination tasks.
- Must be able to pass required testing and wear required protective equipment as assigned and provided by the company.
- Able to coordinate multiple projects/tasks.
- Able to work different shifts and overtime, including the possibility of short-term and long-term shift reassignments to meet business needs.
MENTAL
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in workload priorities, prioritizing tasks.
- Uses the required senses to comprehend, follow instructions, and initiate work duties as assigned.
- Works independently without supervision.
TRAVEL
- Ability to travel domestically 0-5% of the time, typically by car or truck.
