Lactation Consultant RN Per Diem
About the role
Saint Peter's is among the few hospitals in the world to have earned its 7th consecutive Magnet® designation and its first Magnet with Distinction designation. The Lactation Consultant RN Per Diem will identify educational needs of breastfeeding mothers and nursing staff in LDR/Mother-Baby, NICU, Antepartum, and Pediatric units, develop and deliver educational programs, maintain records, and serve as a lactation resource and consultant.
Responsibilities
- Identify educational needs of breastfeeding mothers and nursing staff in LDR/Mother-Baby, NICU, Antepartum, and Pediatric units.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate one-on-one and in-service educational programs in conjunction with the Clinical Specialist.
- Develop and maintain records and serve as a lactation resource person.
- Provide consultation, promotion, and support to medical staff as requested.
Requirements
- Current licensed Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- Prior experience working with breastfeeding mothers on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis.
- IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) certification.
- BLS certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Provider) certification.
Pay
Salary Range: 51.00 USD per hour. We offer competitive base rates determined by job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. Some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials. The salary range listed reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
