About the role

Join a revenue-generating, comprehensive inpatient lactation department that provides breastfeeding support and counseling across multiple units: antepartum and postpartum units of the Women and Babies Center, the NICU, Pediatrics, the ER, and adult units. Work with a broad spectrum of patients, many with complex diagnoses, delivering evidence-based care aligned with the latest research to support each patient’s breastfeeding goals. As a key driver of change, you’ll actively participate in developing policies and protocols to enhance care. The role also involves educating new nursing staff and supporting a unit-based nursing initiative of “breastfeeding champions” that fosters departmental change. Responsibilities

  • Provide breastfeeding support and counseling to patients in antepartum, postpartum, NICU, Pediatrics, ER, and adult units.
  • Deliver evidence-based lactation care tailored to patients with complex diagnoses.
  • Participate in the development of policies and protocols to improve patient care.
  • Educate new nursing staff on lactation practices.
  • Support and mentor unit-based “breastfeeding champions” to promote departmental change.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Three (3) years of maternal-child nursing experience.
  • Current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification.
  • Current RN license in the state of employment or a multistate RN license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.

Schedule

  • Part-time (0.60 FTE).
  • Day shift with varied hours, primarily on weekdays with weekend requirements.
