Lactation Consultant; 0.8FTE; Day/PM Shift

0.8 FTE (32 hours per week)

Schedule

• Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Weekend and holiday rotation (some weekends required)

Pay

$43.89+ per hour

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care according to hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and care standards
• Provide patients and families with information, education, skills, and clinical treatments essential to successful attainment of feeding goals
• Identify treatment plans for the management of lactation problems
• Act as a breastfeeding resource for medical and nursing staff
• Promote breastfeeding as the preferred feeding method for newborns

Requirements

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – other nursing degrees considered on an individual basis
• Experience working with mothers and newborns in a hospital, clinic, or community setting
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin
• IBCLC or CLC certification with a commitment to obtain IBCLC within the first year of hire
