About the role

The season for this position runs from February to May. The job is for a high school lacrosse coaching position at Riverside.

Responsibilities

As Head Coach, responsibilities include:

• Assisting in maintaining high academic standards for all student athletes
• Assisting the athletic director and principal in hiring and retaining assistant coaches
• Directing, supervising, and evaluating the performance of assistant coaches
• Working with the athletic director to ensure proper insurance coverage for athletes
• Collaborating with other head coaches for a well-balanced athletic program
• Fostering appreciation for athletics, good sportsmanship, and pride among participants and spectators
• Directing training, conditioning, and performance of the varsity team
• Supervising athletes at invitational meets and post-season competitions
• Advising on schedule preparation, official selection, and equipment needs
• Ensuring athlete eligibility and medical examinations
• Organizing tryouts and recruiting team support staff
• Maintaining records, statistics, and news items for the team

As Assistant Coach, responsibilities include:

• Working cooperatively with the head coach and athletic department
• Attending staff meetings and carrying out designated duties
• Recommending equipment and supplies
• Fostering a positive attitude and sportsmanship among athletes

Qualifications

• Coaching experience or participation in lacrosse at the high school or college level
• Completion of CPR and First Aid training or current enrollment
• Preferred experience as a teacher or classified employee in Loudoun County Public Schools
• Preferred Virginia Teaching License candidate or full-time classified employee
