About the role

Warehouse worker responsible for shipping, receiving, and expediting materials; loading and unloading materials from trucks with a forklift; pulling material and preparing it for shipment; processing paperwork for received and shipped materials; running reports and entering data into Excel spreadsheets; and using Microsoft Office programs extensively.

Responsibilities

  • Receive items, verify against packing slips, and enter into the computer system with accurate material counts.
  • Unpack delivered goods and store in appropriate locations until issued.
  • Notify and deliver received items to the appropriate department.
  • Maintain inventory control through continuous tracking and inventory updates with reports.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
  • Use identification tags or labeling equipment to mark all goods.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and facility capabilities.
  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Assist maintenance, operators, projects, and anyone entering the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Must meet all physical requirements of the role.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be organized and capable of completing accurate counts on received items.
  • Must have good communication skills, including the ability to read and write effectively.
  • Must be familiar with basic computer operations.
  • Must be able to follow directions.

Physical Requirements

  • Adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
  • Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
  • May be required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in various weather environments (hot, cold, dusty).
  • Work at slight heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms using appropriate fall protection.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, FRC clothing, and leather work boots.
