Laborer I

General Responsibilities

• Operate as a team in support of Equipment Operators, Foreman, and Superintendents to execute Terracon Construction Services.
• Perform site reconnaissance and confirm locations have met all utility clearance requirements.
• Work may include operating various excavators, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, graders, loaders, scrapers, compactors, earth-hauling equipment, and other heavy equipment.
• Services will take place in the field on client sites.

Laborer Essential Roles And Responsibilities

• Load tooling and materials.
• Work as a spotter for Operators.
• Perform basic surveying and site reconnaissance.
• Drive a medium-duty truck and trailer.
• Learn to inspect and maintain equipment.
• Act as an assistant to more senior Laborers and Equipment Operators to help execute the project scope.
• Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects.
• Participate in pre-task planning.
• Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
• Maintain quality standards on all projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
• Soil Composition Testing, Trench Safety.
• Preferred Certification: 40-Hour HAZWOPER certificate, TWIC and DOT medical card for Remediation Construction projects.
