SUMMARY
Mortenson is seeking a Laborer Foreman to coordinate crews and handle materials.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Supervise and coordinate activities of laborers and their assigned roles
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
- Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedules
- Study and analyze schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements for job completion
- Analyze and resolve work problems
- Maintain time records
- Make cost estimates for contracts
- Use logical step-by-step procedures in work; plan work and solve problems; make decisions based on measurable information; may operate machinery
- Provide work direction to laborer I, II, Journeyman, Apprentice, and Helpers
- Work according to standard, detailed instructions and established, well-defined procedures
- Determine work method from alternatives
- Work under broad assignments
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum three (3) years related experience preferred
- Must possess union specific training
- Current driver’s license
- Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; ability to work with machinery such as forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
- Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
