About the role
The Laborer assists with manufacturing operations and occasionally performs upkeep, maintenance, and repair tasks at PCI Manufacturing. This role is fully onsite and requires manual labor duties, tool operation, and equipment inspection.
Responsibilities
- Assist with manufacturing operations including manual labor duties for machining, small fabrication, heavy fabrication, and material handling.
- Operate saws, sanders, benders, presses, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Inspect pieces for conformance to drawings and specifications using visual checks or gages/templates.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of equipment and document findings.
- Clean and deburr machined/produced parts and keep tools, fixtures, and work areas clean and organized.
- Assist skilled workers with basic fabrication tasks.
- Assist with lifting and moving heavy metal items.
- Support shipping/receiving tasks as needed.
- Maintain general site cleanliness.
- Accurately execute time tracking duties for assigned job tasks.
- Perform general maintenance and custodial duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- One (1) year of verifiable related job experience required.
- Experience operating a forklift preferred.
- Working knowledge of industrial trade, practices, procedures, techniques, and safety.
- Ability to operate tools and equipment required.
- Must maintain a record of dependability, punctuality, and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Must be able to lift and manipulate objects up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work odd and irregular hours.
- Must be able to effectively work and communicate with other staff members and the general public.
- Must be able to comply with all other requirements as specified within the Ecke and PCI Manufacturing Safety, Personnel Policies and Procedures.
- Must be able to pass drug and background screenings.
