About the role
The Laborer position at MBG involves a range of responsibilities including operating heavy equipment, cleaning and preparing the jobsite, loading and delivering materials, setting up and taking down temporary structures, and representing the company to various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment
- Cleaning and preparing the jobsite and warehouse
- Loading and delivering materials to jobsite and warehouse
- Using a variety of tools and equipment
- Setting up and taking down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures
- Traffic control, if necessary
- Setting up markers, cones, barricades, and flagging vehicles to control traffic
- Maintaining a clean and organized job site
- Representing the company to the owner, architect, subcontractors, vendors, and government authorities
- Following direction of onsite Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Labor Foreman
Qualifications
- Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, endurance, and flexibility
- Ability to concentrate on tasks
- Understanding and communicating information
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Two to Five years experience; no related degree preferred; equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered; OSHA 10/OSHA 30 a plus
- Knowledgeable in construction means and methods
- Ability to read and interpret construction related documents
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables
- Interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Lifting and/or pushing minimum 40 lbs. regularly
- Exposure to loud noise for extended periods
- Working conditions include occasional exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme heat, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
