About the role

Under direct supervision of a Yard Group Leader or Supervisor, this role performs grass, wood, and shrub cutting, yard slaging, snow removal and salting, general housekeeping, and related work.

Responsibilities

• Receives and follows instructions in substation and other facilities' clearance, safety, and operating procedures.
• Assists in maintaining the substation, facility, or other properties in a clean, orderly condition.
• Performs grass, wood, and shrub cutting; application of weed control materials, insecticides, and fertilizers.
• Assists in repair and restoration of yard grades, slag surfaces, and drainage installations.
• Performs cleaning duties such as washing facility interiors, removal of rubbish, washing windows, cleaning exterior grounds, walks, driveways, and yards; sweeping, mopping, waxing floors; and other general cleaning duties as assigned.
• Assists in the removal of snow and ice from walkways.
• Submits daily logs of work performed, including data entry and other reports of work performed and unusual conditions observed.
• Performs other work as required and assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Within one year must obtain a State of Pennsylvania Driver’s License, Class B, with endorsements.

Pay

Starting rate: $28.63/hour
