Laborer

About the role

Covia is seeking a dynamic Laborer for its Guion, AR location. This position plays a crucial role in the safe and productive operation of wet process, drying, and screening equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and productive operation of wet process, drying, and screening process equipment including conveyors, bucket elevators, mineral separators, screens, fans, and dryers.
• Transfer sand through the plant to product silos while ensuring products are within specification.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner which is most efficient and reduces downtime, and quality issues.
• Complete required paperwork in an orderly, accurate, and professional fashion.
• Avoid doing anything willfully or recklessly that might adversely affect the safety and health of others at the operation.
• Participate on the Plant Mine Rescue team as a certified member as needed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Demonstrated experience contributing within an operations or plant team to deliver against set production, quality, and safety targets.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks.
• Technical training in pumps, computer systems, conveyors, or similar experience preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.

• 6:00pm - 6:00am Monday-Thursday (possible OT on Fridays).
