About the Role
This role involves performing essential custodial and landscaping duties at the Pharr International Bridge Building. You will maintain clean and safe environments by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors, servicing and restocking restrooms, gathering and disposing of trash, cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures, and performing minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain clean and safe environments by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming floors
- Servicing and restocking restrooms to ensure they meet high standards of cleanliness
- Gather and dispose of trash
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems
Requirements
- A strong understanding of various machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repairs, and maintenance
- A solid grasp of the chemical composition and properties of substances relevant to custodial and landscaping tasks, including knowledge of chemical interactions, safety precautions, and proper disposal methods
- The ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
