Laborer

About the role

Csec is seeking a Laborer in the Knoxville, Tennessee region. Laborers perform manual labor duties independently within construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Assists with loading and unloading materials and equipment, distributing them to the appropriate locations as directed.
• Uses required tools to complete assigned tasks on the job site.
• Follows instructions from supervisors and implements construction plans.
• Assists other trades workers on the job site.
• Directs traffic during roadway construction, as required.
• Builds and takes down scaffolding or temporary structures, as required.
• Aids in maintenance of construction tools or equipment.
• Keeps immediate working area clean. Must use broom and wheelbarrows and follow material procedures.
• Identifies and reports safety hazards. Takes all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
• Demonstrates safe working practices and complies with all safety requirements.

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required.
• Preferred Experience, Knowledge, And Skills For This Role Include:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• One (1) or more years of experience in commercial construction.

Skills

• Understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.
• Take measurements and make calculations.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.
• Problem solve when errors occur.
• Keep tools and workspace organized.
• Be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
• Tolerate heights without fear.
• Have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.
