About the role
The Laboratory Technologist will perform a variety of tasks including specimen procurement, processing, and analysis. They will also manage inventory, perform quality control, and interact with healthcare providers.
Responsibilities
- Procure, prepare, and process specimens using various techniques and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and verify specimen appropriateness and documentation.
- Validate test orders and ensure specimen integrity.
- Package specimens for transport and maintain supplies at adequate levels.
- Perform technical assays, evaluate results, and document quality control data.
- Interpret laboratory results and communicate findings to healthcare providers.
- Assist in the evaluation and development of new methods and instruments.
- Report critical values and adhere to environmental control plans.
Requirements
- Associate of Science or higher-level degree in a relevant field.
- CLIA 88 certification for high complexity testing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory information systems.
- Functional skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Equivalent laboratory training and experience meeting CLIA 88 requirements.
- Prior experience within a clinical laboratory.
- ASCP certification preferred.

Pay

Schedule
Rotating shifts, standby, on-call, and local travel may be required.
