About the role

The Laboratory Technologist position offers an opportunity to transition from various professional backgrounds to a 3M career, collaborating with innovative colleagues around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and laboratory equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance and support equipment upgrades
  • Assist with installation, startup, testing, and service activities
  • Document service and maintenance activities
  • Partner with internal teams and customers to resolve technical issues
  • Support safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree, vocational training, or trade certification in a science or technical discipline from an accredited institution, or a High School Diploma/GED with five (5) years of technical experience in manufacturing, including electrical, maintenance, repair, or laboratory equipment troubleshooting in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • General industrial maintenance knowledge
  • Exposure to manufacturing equipment controls and PLCs
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to travel to external customer sites as needed
  • Experience with automated production equipment
  • Mechanical background, including CNC or manual machining
  • Experience with sensors, pneumatics, motors, and related equipment
  • Prior field service or customer-facing technical support experience

Qualifications

  • Legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
  • Must be a US Citizen

Pay & Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position is $81,983 - $100,202, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
