Position Summary

Collecting and distribution of samples
Prioritizing physical testing of production samples
Calibrating standard lab instruments
Recording and interpreting test results
Maintaining the cleanliness of the laboratory environment
Maintaining samples of tested products to confirm test results when necessary
Recording and inputting daily testing results into a computer system
Maintaining adequate supplies for testing and notifying supervisors of the need to reorder supplies
Continuously comparing test results with standards to ensure all flour is within specification
Sending Certificate of Analysis (COA)
Notifying appropriate colleagues when product is not within specification
Performing monthly check samples
Preparing and sending samples to central and third-party labs
Verifying Critical Control Points (CCP) in the mill
Conducting Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections in the mill and packaging

Job Requirements

  • Maintain a neat and clean working area at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completing all safety certification requirements
  • Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, BRC, BATF, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines
  • Handle various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer's chemical Safety Data Sheet
  • Inform supervisor immediately of any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts
  • Report immediately any accidents, injuries and near misses to supervisor
  • Participate actively in training
  • Report to work in a condition to be able to perform all duties
  • PRACTICE proper personal hygiene
  • Familiarize themselves with the hazards in their work area and how to protect themselves
  • Understand that accidents are preventable and that safety is everyone’s responsibility
  • Commitment to ADM’s goal of achieving a zero injury culture; understand and follow company safety procedures
  • Have a flexible work schedule to work 2nd & 3rd shift, weekends and coverage for other techs

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting
  • Working in a variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Working from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders
