Laboratory Technician - Plant Biotechnology
Position Overview
We are world-class experts in plant breeding and biotechnology seeking a motivated Research Laboratory Technician to join the Agriscience Biotechnology team. This position directly supports a cutting-edge research team dedicated to developing and evaluating novel plant breeding methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in creating, executing, and scoring results to meet research team needs, including processing samples under sterile lab conditions, measuring, imaging, and analyzing experimental data.
- Execute plant tissue culture workflows, including aspects of plant transformation and plant propagation.
- Conduct analytical assays on plant tissue samples as required.
- Document precise experimental details, analyze data, interpret results, and record pertinent information accurately into proprietary and standard software applications.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment by strictly utilizing aseptic and sterile techniques.
- Cook up sampling and sample preparation efforts across the team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience). Industry-related experience is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Plant transformation experience in either a classroom or industry setting is highly desirable. Comfort with utilizing proprietary and standard software for data entry.
- Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving skills, excellent written/verbal communication, and sharp organizational abilities.
- Work Style: High attention to detail with the ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks. Must be a self-motivated, goal-oriented team player who can also work seamlessly independently.
Pay
Pay Rate: $27 per hour
Schedule
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
