Laboratory Technician (Pharma, Entry-Level)

Entry-level lab technician role supporting a commercial pharmacy production environment. Focus on long-term growth with hands-on work in compounding, sterile production, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications for compounding in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Assist pharmacists with daily operational tasks in a commercial pharmacy setting.
  • Operate powder machines, tablet and capsule grinding equipment, and other production machinery safely and accurately.
  • Perform sterile compounding activities in a cleanroom environment while following all safety and cleanliness protocols.
  • Ensure correct weights, measurements, and quantities for all compounded and packaged products.
  • Package finished pharmaceutical products and prepare them for shipment in compliance with shipping guidelines.
  • Handle shipping and receiving of finished products, including labeling, documentation, and coordination with the shipping dock.
  • Complete all required production and quality documentation accurately and promptly, following strict quality assurance programs.
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of facilities, cleanrooms, and equipment to maintain a safe and compliant work area.
  • Participate in necessary training and continuing education to maintain and enhance technical and regulatory knowledge.
  • Demonstrate effective communication with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by proactively seeking ways to help colleagues and support workflow.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, productivity, safety, and security in all aspects of work.
  • Follow written instructions and standard operating procedures and use sound reasoning to solve routine problems.

Requirements

  • Laboratory or pharmacy experience with a high school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
