Laboratory Technician, Petroleum - Corpus Christi, TX

About the role

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing duties to support analytical testing for Intertek and its clients. The role involves assisting with equipment calibration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting, cleaning glassware and test equipment, preparing reagents as needed, recording data, maintaining quality records, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs numerous chemical and physical tests based on American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) methods or accepted industry standards in multiple test areas
• Assists with equipment calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting
• Cleans glassware and test equipment
• Aids in preparing reagents as needed
• Records data on appropriate data sheets and reports data to LIMS system
• Maintains quality records, control charts, and lab supply inventories
• Complies with safety, quality and housekeeping requirements
• Participates in cross training as needed

• Ability to utilize non-complex and complex instrumentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (preferred)
• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (preferred)
• General Chemical (GC) experience (preferred)

Skills

• Microsoft Office software proficiency (including Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Reliable driving record
