Laboratory Technician Night (7PM-7AM)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check the production schedule and walk the floor to become familiar with products.
  • Consult with the outgoing QA Technician for any items of concern.
  • Collect samples from each injection molding machine and secondary process for required attribute / dimensional / functional testing.
  • Notify the Shift Supervisor of any non-conformance found.
  • Monitor active concerns for prompt resolution and escalate issues to Management if necessary.
  • Notify the Quality Manager of quality defects not corrected promptly.
  • Identify non-conforming product with “Hold” labels and update the hold log.
  • Perform in-process attribute verification and document checks.
  • Document and record results of first shot verification.
  • Notify the Quality Manager of any quality department equipment deficiencies.
  • Communicate any ongoing concerns to the incoming QA Technician at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.

Education, Skills & Physical Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous work history in manufacturing and/or quality assurance environment.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, bend, and reach to perform necessary job functions.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to operate and pallet jack safely.
  • Excellent mathematics, computer, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring devices, such as height gages and calipers.
