Laboratory Technician (Metals) - Environmental

Responsibilities
- Perform sample preparation, digestion, and metals analysis in accordance with approved methods, SOPs, and quality standards
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain ICP and ICP-MS instrumentation to ensure accurate and reliable metals testing results
- Document, review, and enter analytical data and test results into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other designated systems
- Support laboratory quality programs by adhering to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), participating in audits, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Follow laboratory safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
- Assist with laboratory housekeeping, inventory control, equipment upkeep, and cross-training activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated hands-on analytical laboratory experience, preferably within an environmental testing laboratory
- Previous experience operating, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining analytical instrumentation, preferably ICP and ICP-MS systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with LIMS systems is a plus, but not required
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and testing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
Skills
- Hands-on analytical laboratory experience
- ICP and ICP-MS instrumentation operation and maintenance
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- LIMS system experience (optional)
