Laboratory Technician II - Core Labs - 1st Shift
About the role
The Department of Pathology is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to assist with the daily allocation of resources and coordination of activities to ensure a smooth operation. This position is 100%-time, 1st shift from 0700-1530, with rotating holidays and potential for on-call.
Responsibilities
- Operates laboratory equipment to complete waived and moderately complex testing on laboratory clinical specimens as assigned.
- Performs or directs routine preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and cleaning as assigned.
- Ensures optimal service to clients through communications with external and internal laboratories and support staff.
- May provide functional supervision through the daily allocation of resources and coordination of activities.
- Performs phlebotomy as necessary.
Requirements
- Two years of related laboratory experience including one year as a Laboratory Technician I or equivalent level experience, or
- Certified Laboratory Assistant (CLA) certification, or
- Any combination of related post high school education and experience which totals two years.
Special Qualification
- Mets CLIA 88 requirements and qualifications to perform waived testing (point of care testing). Must be able to provide a high school diploma (or equivalent) if no post-secondary degree.
Qualifications
- High volume public contact
- Experience performing waived testing, including releasing test results.
- Phlebotomy experience is highly desirable.

Pay
Salary range: $35,000 - $45,000 annually
Schedule
1st shift from 0700-1530, with rotating holidays and potential for on-call.
