Laboratory Technician I (Temporary role M-F 3pm to 11pm)- Eurofins Environment Testing Northwest, Tacoma, WA

Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing Northwest is searching for a Laboratory Technician I in Tacoma, WA.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, aliquoting samples, spiking and tracing samples, preparing reagents, bottling samples, preparing concentrations, separation, sonication, and liquid rack setup.
• Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
• Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stocks laboratory supplies.
• Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assists other laboratory areas as needed.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and multi-task.
• Work independently.
• Work within time constraints.
• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma required.
• Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 25 lbs.
• Available for overtime and weekends when required.
• High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Additional Information

• This is a full-time temporary (90 days) position.
• Monday to Friday 3 pm to 11 pm with possibility of overtime & weekends.
• Compensation: $19-22/hour.
• Candidates within a commutable distance to Tacoma, WA are encouraged to apply.
