About the role

Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is searching for a Laboratory Technician I in Tustin, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on required due dates and holding times.
  • Retrive samples from sample storage for preparation.
  • Weigh and measure sample aliquots for preparation.
  • Document required sample preparation details and observations.
  • Prepare reagents and standards for daily use.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with the laboratory quality assurance program.
  • Perform daily duties while adhering to the environmental health and safety policies.
  • Wash laboratory glassware as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Communicate with department manager, analytical team, and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, holding time etc.
  • Aid other areas of the laboratory as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and multi-task.
  • Work independently.
  • Work within time constraints.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.

Additional Information

Compensation range: $18 - $22 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Position is full-time with possible overtime and weekends as needed. Must be able to work one of the following updated shifts in addition to the initial few weeks training schedule will be Monday - Friday, 9am -6pm. Sunday - Thurs; 3pm-12am Tuesday - Saturday; 7am-4pm Wednesday - Sunday; 3pm-12am
