About the Role
The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations in the TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) Department, focusing on Indoor Air Quality testing. Using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation, the role ensures compliance with Eurofins’ Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
- Performs sample preparation, including but not limited to:
- Bulk samples
- AHERA (Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act) samples
- Soil samples
- Dust samples
- Performs sample log-in.
- Conducts equipment calibrations, daily balance checks, thermometer readings, and other basic lab activities.
- Maintains, cleans, and prepares glassware and other laboratory appliances for TEM sample preparation.
- Stocks laboratory supplies.
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assists other laboratory areas as needed.
Requirements
- Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- High school Chemistry coursework and basic laboratory experience.
- Skills:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and a good team player; comfortable with routine and production work.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Experience handling micropipettes and tweezers is preferred.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
Schedule
Full-time position, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Pay
$18 per hour. The actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, skill set, internal peer benchmarks, business sector, and geographic location.
