Laboratory Technician I

Job Summary
The Laboratory Technician I will support the R&D group including but not limited to Systems Engineering, Reagent Development, Genomics, and select Hardware Engineering laboratories by providing general laboratory support.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing laboratory maintenance for multiple laboratories following good laboratory procedures including operation of a clean and efficient laboratory, documenting all work, such as, but not limited to:
- Change refrigerator chart recorder paper
- Monitor temperature of small refrigerators and freezers
- Empty laboratories recycle bins
- Organize and stock lab supplies within the labs and stockrooms
- Biohazard waste maintenance
- Maintains glassware by pick-ups, cleaning, washing, and distributing
- Performs DI water daily flushes
- Monitoring the stock level of Sheath and Shutdown solutions
- Responsible for delivery, set-up, and pickup of lab equipment, lab materials and office supplies
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to communicate clearly, including effective oral and written communication skills
- Effective multitasking capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Demonstrated ability to keep neat, accurate and complete records and logs
- Medium work of lifting and/or pushing up to 30- 45 pounds
- Familiar with general GMP/GLP procedures with a strong focus on quality
Education and Experience
- BS in Biology or related discipline
- Minimum 1 year experience in a GMP or GLP environment
