Laboratory Technician - FSC Urgent Care

Responsibilities

  • Performs phlebotomy on all age groups.
  • Processes specimens by labeling, centrifuging, testing, storing, and sending out to reference laboratories.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with all maintenance and accreditation guidelines.
  • Conducts daily Quality Assurance reviews to ensure adherence to established laboratory and accreditation standards.
  • Maintains patient and laboratory records, provides coding with laboratory information, and conducts annual competency training for nursing staff.
  • Inventories and orders supplies to maintain uninterrupted laboratory operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate's degree in a medical field preferred.
  • No prior experience required with a degree.
  • Clinical competency must be achieved within three months of hire and every three years.
  • Completion of a two-week in-house laboratory training program is required post-hire for continued employment.
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory principles, patient confidentiality, and established laboratory policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a medical setting for at least two years.
  • Successful completion of a two-week, in-house laboratory training program.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal errors and multitask effectively.
  • Basic understanding of phlebotomy techniques for all age groups.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to lift approximately 30 pounds.

Pay

Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.04

Schedule

FSC Urgent Care Hours: 8am - 8pm, 7 days a week
