Laboratory Technician - Enid, OK

About the role

This position is for a lab technician at ADM Flour Mill in Enid, OK. The lab is responsible for grading incoming wheat, testing in-process flour, and releasing the final product.

Responsibilities

• Prepare process and finished product samples; perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems.
• Perform daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
• Maintain samples of tested product to confirm test results, if necessary.
• Document results of all testing procedures and promptly notify operations of required adjustments.
• Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Understand production processes required in the production of product and make recommendations to operators to achieve product quality.
• Perform light maintenance and calibration on all ADM laboratory equipment.
• Maintain ongoing records of testing results and input data into the computer daily.
• Maintain adequate supplies for testing procedures and notify the supervisor of re-order needs.
• Continually compare equipment readouts with samples of standards to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain a neat and clean working area, washing equipment as required and storing it properly.
• Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
• Perform duties safely, utilizing all approved safety equipment and completing safety certification requirements.
• Maintain awareness of and adhere to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines.

Qualifications

Preferred experience includes:

• Good attendance history and excellent safety record.
• Sufficient computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs.
• Familiarity with current commercial software applications (Excel, Word).
• Experience with lab documentation.
• Experience operating standard lab equipment (e.g., pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer).
• Sufficient math skills to perform calculations associated with lab testing.
• Previous plant experience.

Pay

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $32,500.00 and $59,000.00. Base pay may vary depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also receive overtime pay for qualifying hours.
