Responsibilities
- Prepare process and finished product samples; perform analytical testing using instrumental, wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems accurately.
- Perform daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
- Maintain samples of tested product to confirm test results, if necessary.
- Document results of testing procedures/results and promptly notify Operators/Supervisor in the Plant if adjustments need to be made.
- Perform light maintenance and calibrations on all ADM Laboratory equipment.
- Understand most production processes required in the production of edible beans, protein isolates, and starch/fiber coproducts, and how they would relate to the analysis being performed.
- Maintain a neat and clean working area at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
- Safely perform duties, utilizing all approved safety equipment, and complete all safety certification requirements.
- Maintain awareness and adhere to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines.
- Handle various chemicals in assorted containers in the manner outlined in the manufacturer’s chemical Safety Data Sheet.
- Inform supervisor immediately of any hazards, unsafe equipment and/or acts.
- Report immediately any accidents, injuries and near misses to supervisor.
- Recommend solutions to correct deficiencies or improve work and operational practices.
- Participate actively in training.
- Report to work in a condition to be able to perform all duties.
- PRACTICE proper personal hygiene.
Requirements
- HS/AAS degree in any science related field, BA/BS nice to have.
- Computer entry and/or typing skills are desirable.
- Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
- Working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders.
- Working in variety of conditions (heat, cold, dust etc.), lift up to 30lbs unassisted.
- Willing to work alternating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Techs may be asked to fill in other shifts at any time.

Pay
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The pay range for this position is expected to be between: $32,500.00 - $59,000.00.
Schedule
Alternating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
Location
Varies based on business needs.
