Responsibilities

• Accession and gross surgical tissues for processing and eventual microscopic evaluation
• Load the tissue blocks on the processor
• Perform H & E and Papanicolaou staining and cover slip all surgical and cytologic specimen slides
• Organize cases by matching slides with paperwork and laying slides out in slide folders
• Prepare cytology slides using techniques and guidelines established by our laboratory
• Keep supplies fully stocked
• Organize and label slides/paperwork and keep records of tests
• Dispose of laboratory waste and change solutions appropriately
• Perform other laboratory and office duties as assigned by the manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Associates or higher degree preferred
• Minimum of one-year relevant experience as a Laboratory Assistant with Clinical lab/histology experience desired

• Ability to multi-task, self-motivation, reliability, and accountability in meeting timelines
• Excellent computer software and data analysis skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong customer service/relations skills

Pay

$25.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual compensation offered to candidates is based on work experience, education, skill level, and geographic location. Compensation may vary depending on the state or region in which the position is located, in accordance with applicable laws.
