Job Duties
- Captures and manages laboratory services provided within the Clinic.
- Collaborates with the Nursing Clinic Coordinator to develop laboratory services.
- Provides laboratory services to meet client needs according to clinic protocol.
- Performs phlebotomy services, microscopic exams, and various diagnostic tests.
- Prepares client specimens for external evaluation.
- Maintains laboratory equipment and completes required controls.
- Orders necessary supplies and assists the Laboratory Director with updates.
- Analyzes statistical data and reports on service costs.
- Compiles and maintains records for various programs.
- Maintains laboratory certifications and updates.
- Reports to work during public health emergencies.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year laboratory experience, including phlebotomy.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Professional demeanor and good communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize work.
- Fine and gross motor skills ability.
Physical Requirements
- Medium Work Level.
- Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
- Ability to communicate verbally and hear.
- May require walking, standing, bending, balancing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to infectious pathogens, blood, body fluids, and hazardous waste.
- May be exposed to a variety of work environments, including outside health department buildings.
- Occasional weekend and evening work, and on-call status.
