Laboratory Technician

About the role

A Laboratory Technician responsible for performing routine and high-complexity laboratory tests across various disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, toxicology, and molecular diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen accessioning, processing, and storage, ensuring specimen integrity and documentation.
• Conduct molecular testing, PGX testing, and toxicology confirmation using advanced instrumentation like Shimadzu LC-MS/MS.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, monitor quality control, and ensure compliance with CLIA and other regulatory standards.
• Support laboratory workflow, manage supplies, and contribute to process improvements for accurate and timely patient results.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, proficiency testing, and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program or equivalent; preferred bachelor’s degree in a related science field.
• Certification through ASCP or AMT is preferred.
• Experience with molecular diagnostics, toxicology testing, nucleic acid extraction, and LC-MS/MS is highly desirable.
